Hawaiian Airlines Flight Delay Rights: The Regulatory Framework
Hawaiian Airlines flight delay rights are governed by US DOT 14 CFR Part 260, the same automatic refund regulation that applies to all US carriers. Hawaiian operates trans-Pacific routes (mainland US to Hawaii, Hawaii to Japan, Australia, and South Korea) and inter-island flights. All of these are covered by US DOT rules. EU261 does not apply on Hawaiian routes because Hawaiian is a US-licensed carrier and no Hawaiian routes depart from EU airports.
Alaska Airlines completed its acquisition of Hawaiian Holdings in September 2024. Hawaiian Airlines continues to operate under its own brand with its own operating certificate. How to Claim a Hawaiian Airlines Refund

Alaska Airlines Integration and What It Means for Claims

Additional Compensation: Meals, Vouchers, and Hotel
US DOT does not mandate meal vouchers or hotel compensation for delays. Hawaiian Airlines voluntarily offers meal vouchers for delays exceeding 3 hours and hotel accommodations for overnight delays caused by carrier-controlled issues (not weather). These are offered at Hawaiian's discretion, not guaranteed. Accept them in addition to, not instead of, your cash refund right. The cash refund right is mandatory under federal law; vouchers are voluntary.
