What Qualifies as Vueling Denied Boarding Under EU261
EU261 Article 4 defines denied boarding as a refusal to carry a passenger who has a confirmed reservation, arrived at the gate on time, and holds valid travel documents. For Vueling specifically, denied boarding is typically triggered by:

Overbooking: Vueling sold more seats than the aircraft can carry. More passengers show up than there are seats.

Voluntary vs Involuntary Bumping: Know the Difference
EU261 requires Vueling to first ask for volunteers before involuntarily denying boarding. If Vueling is overbooked, it must call for volunteers and offer benefits (such as travel vouchers or cash) in exchange for giving up a seat. If enough volunteers come forward, Vueling does not need to involuntarily bump anyone.
